Vestige II

Handcrafted ceramic wall object combining a ceramic relief with reclaimed wood.

The ceramic tile is made entirely by hand using my own sculpting technique. It is mounted in a frame crafted from an old weathered wooden board. The wood retains the marks left by time—cracks, texture, and traces of its previous life—which I deliberately preserve as an essential part of the work.

The ceramic skull refers to the tradition of memento mori, becoming a quiet reminder of mortality and the passage of time. By bringing together fired clay and aged wood, the object creates a dialogue between material, memory, and impermanence.

Vestige is part of an ongoing series of wall objects in which reclaimed wood and handmade ceramics are combined into unique sculptural pieces.
